Don't forget the Lakes Region Weekly Candidates Forum tonight at Windham High School. All the candidates vying to represent Gray's various districts will be there. It will be the only chance to see each set of of competing candidates going head to head, so to speak. 7-9pm at Windham High School.

And with luck, you'll get home in time to catch the VP debate. A lot of people are expecting this thing to be 90 minutes of nonsense from la Palin, but that will happen ONLY if moderator Gwen Ifill is diligent with her followup questions. Palin's modus operandi is to answer even the most complex question with a breezy platitude. Its only when pressed (as Couric and Gibson gently did) that the true depths of her abysmal ignorance becomes apparent. If Ifill lets her get away with a single glib answer to every question, be prepared for claims from the McCain camp tomorrow that Palin "held her own" against Joe Biden.
